Our Director happens to have another website devoted to Food Education - and included on this website are recipes from the Kabocha Kitchen. These recipes are modeled after Japanese school lunch. However, she’s never actually done a cooking class on Japanese school lunch - until now! On June 24th, Director Alexis and Research Assistant Yoriko held a cooking class in cooperation with the NYU Food Studies Department. The menu was in celebration of Tanabata - a celestial summer festival held in July to mark the meeting of two stars in the night sky and the romantic legend which surrounds it.
A few pictures from my time on the Japan Exchange Teaching Program in Gotsu, Shimane. The town which started it all!
Thank you for being a part of this project so far. As we dot our i's and cross our t's and anxiously plan for the campaign launch on January 5th, I thought I would take a moment to pause. And to share with you what this film is all about. Why I believe it is important. Why I believe it is a story that should be told.
